Laura Marie Charron

ABOUT LAURA

Laura Marie Charron (Smiley), 43, of San Marcos, CA, passed away on December 9, 2021 at home with family in her sleep.  She was born to her loving parents Darrell and Kathryn Smiley, on February 15, 1978 in Orange, California.  Laura graduated from Foothill High School and attended Cal State Fullerton.

Laura met Shawn Charron in 2011 at a birthday party where he instantly “adored” her.  As she would retell of their first meeting, “Well that’s it, that’s the man I’m going to marry.”  And they did on September 27, 2014 in Trabuco Canyon, CA. Together they lived in San Marcos for 8 years and raised two wonderful boys, Archer (6) and Adam (2).

Laura is survived by her husband Shawn, sons Archer and Adam, parents Darrell and Kathryn Smiley, sister Jean Maker, brother-in-law Nathan, niece Kate, nephew Nathan, brother-in-law Peter Charron and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Laura had a profound effect on the people she met and brought immediate joy and smiles to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.  Her beauty and flashy style made her stand out but it was her boundless generosity and love that made her unforgettable.
Family and friends were the most important things in Laura’s life. She loved celebrating with loved ones and getting together with family.  Without fail ending every family visit or phone call with an “I Love You.”

Laura worked various jobs but found her true calling when she became a mother.  There is nothing she loved more than being Archer and Adam’s “momma” and she gave everything she had to her boys.  She couldn’t have been more proud of them, as she would say “My Boys” with the biggest, sweetest smile across her face while watching them do anything.
Laura left us far too soon but her pure positivity and genuine love of others was truly a rare find and we are all blessed to have had the opportunity to have known her.

A Celebration of Laura occurred on December 23, 2021 at Brown Colonial Mortuary 204 W. 17th St., Santa Ana, CA 92706. Laura was laid to rest at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 7845 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA 92869. Don Johnson officiated the ceremony.
